Ceremben®

Pilot studies have raised the exciting prospect that Daval’s medication may have non-human therapeutic applications. Ceremben is a novel veterinary product, which is closely based on AIMSPRO. An ethically approved, authorised randomised, double-blind, Phase II trial in a leading Southern Hemisphere University Veterinary School commenced in early July 2008.  This will be followed by field trials, which are likely to commence in December 2008.

The target condition is a relatively common and debilitating equine disorder. This condition represents a particular challenge in horses preparing for competition.  Early findings from this therapeutic study indicate favourable tolerability.

Daval is currently examining a range of options which have emerged in recent weeks for the funding of the fast-tracked development of what could be a major advance in the often fraught area of anti-inflammatory prescribing in horses, dogs and cats. Further equine and feline studies are now being negotiated.
